 Les Galapons is an old 19th century farmhouse, built of stone and adobe. Arranged on 3.8 hectares of meadows and woods, it is located in a quiet area. A real return to nature awaits you. We provide our guests with several spaces for their pleasure and relaxation. The common room We use this room for breakfasts and the table d'hôte, when the weather does not allow us to settle outside. Under its beautiful wooden ceiling, you can choose a book, a magazine, a board game or play on the piano. Its adjoining covered terrace is the ideal place for a coffee or an aperitif during dinner at the table d'hôte. The swimming pool The swimming pool is accessible from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It is not heated. Its high shelter allows you to enjoy it from the end of April to mid-October, whatever the weather. In high season, the water temperature can reach 31 ° C. When the weather is good, we open the shelter to take advantage of the adjoining lawns.  C'est en 2017 que nous avons déposé nos valises à Saint-Martin-de-Bavel, authentique commune située dans le département de l'Ain.  Dès notre arrivée, nous avons été séduits par les magnifiques paysages du Bugey, la diversité des activités sportives proches de chez nous et la gourmandise de son terroir. Nous avons eu un véritable coup de coeur pour cette belle demeure en pierre blanche avec ses volets rouges et le projet d'accueillir et de partager des moments avec des hôtes est devenu une évidence. Nous nous sommes lancés dans la rénovation de notre maison et des espaces extérieurs et avons décidé de créer un gîte dans une partie de la grange et des chambres d'hôtes (toujours en travaux) dans notre habitation. Nous avons également fait les aménagements nécessaires pour que les cavaliers puissent venir profiter de belles vacances avec leurs chevaux.  Nous avons eu à coeur de garder l'authenticité des lieux tout en proposant un grand confort et nous espérons que vous vous y sentirez bien. Nous avons deux chiens, Baía et Lunes qui adorent nous suivre partout, quatre chèvres très gourmandes, des poissons discrets dans un petit bassin extérieur et deux chevaux qui passent de temps en temps des vacances à la maison. Etant propriétaires d'animaux, nous savons qu'il est toujours difficile de partir en vacances sans nos fidèles compagnons. Nous acceptons donc les animaux dans le gîte sous certaines conditions pour vous permettre de profiter de beaux moments avec tous les membres de la famille.  Ce projet de vie s'inscrit dans une vision et une démarche du mieux vivre, et c'est pour cela que nous ferons tout notre possible pour vous proposer des produits maison, locaux et bio.  Nous serons heureux de partager avec vous nos bonnes adresses locales et vous indiquer les chemins à suivre pour partir à la découverte du Bugey!  En toute saison, venez vous reposer...profiter...respirer... Another idea: the Col de du Fresne with return via the Col des Prés (80 km for 1,500 m of D+), and a magnificent ride in the valleys of the Bauges. Do not hesitate to ask me for advice: I am myself passionate about road cycling and can direct you to some of my favorite circuits starting from the gîte, or a little further in Chartreuse or in the Bauges, and of course the unmissable tour of Lake Bourget.
